News 25: Chiefs catcher Josh Donaldson has a lot of opposing runners scared. You've thrown out 9 of 15 runners, including three in one game.

Donaldson: "Yeah, the pitcher's have been giving me pretty good times, and as long as they do that, I feel like I have a good shot at throwing somebody out."

News 25: Tell me about being here this year, a step up for you in leagues.

Donaldson: "Yeah, just good experience. Got drafted last year I just hope to get better through the years and hopefully move further along."

News 25: You hit a walk–off homer last week. That had to be a lot of fun.

Donaldson: "Yeah, Marquez hit a three–run homer in the bottom of the ninth and gave me a chance to win the game. The guy threw me a fastball and I was just fortunate to hit it outta the ballpark."

News 25: You're one of four guys on the team in the top 30 prospect–wise in the Cubs organization. How do you handle that?

Donaldson: "You just come out here and get your job done everyday. Go through your business–like motions. Not anything too strenuous hopefully, but continue to smooth the edges, continue to work hard. Just get the job done and not worry about the prospect list."

News 25: What's it been like as a catcher working with a pitcher from Taiwan and another one from South Korea? That has to be a bit of a challenge too.

Donaldson: "It's interesting. You know, hopefully after I leave my baseball career I'll know four languages; Spanish, Taiwan, Korean, and English. Hopefully I'll be able to learn a little bit and communicate with those guys and help them get a little better."

News 25: When you look upstairs (in the O'Brien Field lobby) and you see (pictures of ) guys like Mark Grace, Joe Girardi who have gone onto have careers in the big leagues, do you think about that and think, hey, they got there from here and so can I?

Donaldson: "Sure, I mean all of our goals here are to get to the big leagues, and be successful and stick somewhere whether it's with the Cubs or with anybody. We have a great opportunity to come out here and play baseball everyday, and if we're successful at it, hopefully someday we'll be in the big leagues."
