Morton all–state basketball player Brooke Bisping lives a charmed life.
Trips to state in both volleyball and basketball her sophomore year, and now, as a junior, she's adding another sport to her resume.
This one involves a ball and a net as well, only it's not played in a climate–controlled gymnasium.

Brooke Bisping is enjoying the great outdoors...sort of.

"It’s a big change. Yeah, it gets kinda cold sometimes, but I just bundle up and grin and bear it, I suppose," Bisping said.

For the first time in her life, the Morton junior is playing organized soccer after a hard–sell recruiting effort by one basketball and one volleyball teammate.

" I don’t think she thought she’d be very good, but I knew because of volleyball that she’s a good jumper, and because of basketball she’s quick," said basketball and soccer teammate Devan McMenamin. " I knew she’d be good, I just had to keep convincing her that she was a good candidate for it."

"I tore my ACL in December and I saw her in the library and told her it would make my season if she would be our goalie, because I can’t play," said volleyball and soccer teammate Maci Hatch. " So, it would make me really happy if you’d be our goalie, because we all know you’d be a stud. I just talked to her about it and she told me I guilted her into it. "

That guilt trip worked, and Brooke has taken to the soccer much better than she has the unseasonably cold spring...bringing her all–state basketball mentality to the soccer pitch.

"There is a sense of pride in being a committed, successful athlete," said Morton soccer coach Brian Deters. "When you experience something in one arena, I think you’re going to want to carry it over and I think that’s definitely happened. Brooke’s in it, not only to be here, but to be very good at what she’s doing, and that’s clear in her work ethic that that’s what she’s striving for. She’s definitely on the right track."

"I think our whole team tries our hardest to win," Bisping said. " I think we just keep that in the front of our minds that we always want to come out on top, so it’s a pretty big part I suppose."
