6-foot-10 Paul Bunch scored a game-high 18 points and collected 11 rebounds to lead North Lawndale to a 56-42 win over Peoria-Manual in the state 2A championship game at Carver Arena Saturday night.

Bunch scored 14 of his points in the first half, in which the Phoenix took control of the game with a 10-0 run. Zilijan Jones added 16 for North Lawndale.

Manual was led by Paris Gulley with 14 points, the only Rams player in double figures.

A year ago North Lawndale lost in the state finals. Manual was playing in its first state championship game since winning its fourth consectuive championship in 1997.
