Lewistown's first trip to the IHSA Final Four since the 1940's is guaranteed to end with a trophy, but their hopes for a state 1A championship were dashed by St. Anne today 52-45.

The two teams were tied at 8-all at the end of the first quarter and the Cardinals led Lewistown by two points (19-17) at halftime. Strong inside work built that lead to six points at the end of three quarters.

Lewistown (31-2) will play for third place tomorrow at 11:00 a.m., while the Cardinals (24-8) will play for the championship right afterwards.

St. Anne's Varron Burdunice led the Indians with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Adam Valencia and Cory Bishop both scored 12 points for Lewistown. Valencia grabbed 11 rebounds.
