Eureka's Olivia Klaus, Limestone's Nicole Benson, Tremont’s Parker Thompson and Limestone's Nick Holmes all won state cross country titles Saturday.

Benson's victory was a dramatic one, taking the lead in the last quarter mile of the girls' 2A race to beat last year's winner Caitlin Comfort. It was the second time in 3 weeks Benson has beaten the Notre Dame
senior. benson's time was 16:37, 13 seconds faster than Comfort.

The Elmwood boys, and the Eureka and Notre Dame girls all finished second in their respective team competitions.
