Back from his trip to the all–star game and the White House Chiefs' manager
Ryne Sandberg returns to work Thursday night versus Lansing.
Ryno went from riding buses in the Midwest League to taking limousines.

Ryne Sandberg played 16 seasons in the Major Leagues and was an All-Star 10 times but until this week he had never been to Yankee Stadium.

Chief's manager Ryne Sandberg said, "I got to be with the Hall of Famers, walk out from centerfield. Stand there on the dirt at Yankee Stadium, be able to visualize, look around think of all the players that have been there.
Once in a lifetime opportunity."

Sandberg and 48 other Hall of Famers were introduced on the field before Tuesday Night’s All-Star Game and they took part in a parade down 6th Ave. in New York City.

Sandberg said, "Tremendous night representing the Hall of Fame and Major League Baseball being there for the All-Star Game. Wow, dreams just continue to come true. What an incredible experience."

Sandberg’s time away from the Chiefs didn’t end in the Big Apple. On Wednesday he was on the South Lawn of the White House taking part in a tee-ball game with the President.

Sandberg said, "First thing he said was wow you’re staying in shape. I said Mr. President, I’m managing at the A-Ball level of the Chicago Cubs in Peoria, Illinois. I’m enjoying myself and these guys are giving me a workout everyday."

There was also a dinner at the White House where Sandberg took a minute to brag about his former team.

Sandberg said, "As I was leaving I said Mr. President how about the Cubs? He said Yeah, Yeah there playing some good baseball."
