The Bloomington Extreme almost pulled off a stunning upset, but wound up stunned by a 40-35 loss to the Sioux Falls Storm in United Bowl IV.

A 29-yard field goal by Peter Christofilakos st aked the Extreme to a 35-32 lead with 9:29 to play in the fourth quarter. But Sioux Falls, which has now won UIF championship in all four seasons the league has been in existence, drove 30 yards for the go-ahead touchdown, a one-yard score by Terrance Bryant with 4:11 left.

Bloomington quarterback Dusty Burk passed for 251 yards and 3 TD's and Derin Graham caught nine of Burk's passes for a game-high 110 yards and a score.

The Extreme finish the season 8-8. League champ Sioux Falls ends the year 13-3.
