Wherever Christin has run, Mike Wurth and his wife have traveled.
But this time, on the biggest stage, the Olympics, they're not sure they'll be sitting in the stands.
"Whether we can get tickets. That's another issue. You don't put all this together because of the expense until you know your daughter or your son has made it," Mike says.
Plane tickets, hotels and another important obligation with another child comes to thousands of dollars in costs.
"We have a wedding coming up on the 19th so there's a lot of things going on," Mike says.
We first saw Christin Wurth running to 3 state track titles at Bloomington High School.
"Those are once in a lifetime. We've been fortunate to have some all-staters, some runners go on to be all-Americans in college. But, she is the first one to make it all the way to the Olympics," Christin's High School Coach John Szabo says.
Szabo saw Christin's drive in doing these early morning summer runs and much more.
"She would get done with workout here and go home and eat and then she would do something else in the evening on her own at home and push herself to be the best she can be," John says.
Chrstin's Childhood Neighbor Reid Golowski says, "It was a lot of fun watching her run up and down the street and see how fast she was going. It inspired me to go out and run."
Christin's Olympic aspirations has these high schoolers reaching for the finish line in not only running but life.
"When you have dreams, they can come true," Bloomington Runner Ashley Szabo says.
Christin's legacy didn't run off when she graduated in 1999. Instead, runners and her parents are trying to follow in her footsteps.
Christin's family is considering fund raisers to help them get to the games this August. The Olympics begin on WEEK August 8th and Christin will race on 19th.

What an accomplishment to make it to the Olympics! Congratulations go to Christin for her hard work. I agree with "normalite" it is completely tacky and appalling that they would go on the news and ask for hand-outs. These aren't needy impoverished people. As for the wedding they mentioned, my son knows their son and it is his wedding...we all know that the bride's family bears the giant cost of the wedding, not the groom's parents. Totally tacky, I wonder if their children know about this?
