June 30: New Area Road Projects

By Jeff Muniz

From flooding to just typical road construction, many state highways and interstates are full of orange barrels and barricades. This week's Construction Brake highlights a few new road projects locally to help travelers get around town.

There's more bad news for motorists in Bartonville. Work begins Monday on the east side of Adams Street and the west side of Keller Street.

There will also be some minor work on the other side each of those streets around Garfield.

Two-way traffic will be maintained but the work won't finish until September.

Repair work begins this week on two sections of Route 29 in Putnam County. The work zones will be a mile and 6 miles north of Illinois Route 18. The work wraps up around September.

Before heading out of town for the 4th Holiday, check out other statewide road construction and closures do to flooding under Related Content.

Drive carefully and watch out for those orange barrels.
