Drivers need to be on the lookout for a lot more construction workers this week. There are a slew of road repairs all across the area to warn motorists about in this week's construction brake.

First, it's not good news on Knoxville Avenue at the War Memorial intersection in Peoria. Expect slow going and back-ups especially on southbound Knoxville and in both directions on War Drive. Crews will be putting in new pavement, which means pinching cars down to one lane through mid-May.

Also, the McClugage Bridge mess is back. Eastbound traffic will be down to one lane from 6:30 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon. The daily lane reduction will last until May 9th.

Other road resurfacing projects include Route 29 from Sparland to Henry. That work will last until August. Also, US 24 in Bartonville from Pfeiffer to Kickapoo Creek Bridge will see lane reductions through June.

To McLean County, where crews will be sealing cracks on Veterans Parkway in Bloomington, Route 9 from Towanda to Route 165 and US 136 from Interstate 55 to US 51.

Work on two new bridges also begins this week on Route 136.
There's one in Champaign County near Fisher and seven miles west of US 51 over Prairie Creek. Construction should be complete by mid to late June.
