Fog caused an early morning accident that caused the closure of a section of road in Woodford County for most of the day. Illinois Route 251 remained closed until 3:45 p.m. from El Paso to Illinois Route 116.

Police say dense fog is to blame for a chain-reaction semitrailer collision in central Illinois that killed 25 hogs loaded on a truck.

Illinois State Police spokesman Tony Halsey says about 200 hogs were being hauled in a semitrailer when it tipped over during a crash this morning about 9:15 just north of El Paso.

The force of the accident threw pigs from the truck and trapped others inside. Two other trailers involved in the accident were hauling engines
and road salt and neither tipped over.

None of the three drivers were seriously injured. The driver of the hog truck was issued a citation for failing to yield at a stop intersection.
