President Bush makes a return visit to the Peoria area later this month.

The President will speak at a fundraiser for 18th Congressional District Republican candidate Aaron Schock two weeks from Friday, July 11th.

Schock's campaign manager Steve Shearer tells News 25 the President will arrive Friday, July 25th.

The White House has not finalized all the details, but the plan is to hold the fundraiser at a private residence. Two possibilities are Weaver Farms in Peoria and another farm near Morton.

This will be his second trip to the area as President. Mr. Bush spoke at Caterpillar in early 2007.

Congressman Ray LaHood told News 25 how the latest visit came together.

"Aaron decided that he wanted to raise a significant amount of money and one way to do it would be to get the president to come. And so he made contact with the White House and I also talked to the political people at the White House, and they agreed they would come sometime this summer," said LaHood.

"It's an honor to have the President come for a 27-year old candidate," said Steve Shearer.

Tickets for the fundraiser will be 500 dollars each. Shearer says tickets can be purchased through the campaign office at (309) 693-9393.

To many people need to step back and look at there own lifestyle and realize that if your living check to check it's not because of the President it's because you are over spending and not being smart with your money. Start taking responsibility for your own debt, pay your bills, stop foreclosing on homes, and credit cards and stop blaming everyone else. Do you actually think OBAMA is going to make a difference? You better start stocking up on canned food and ammunition your going to need it.

My comment was simply to say that everytime I turn around it's the President that is to blame. He is one of many working parts that affect our economy. It's starts down at the lowest levels of politics where tax dollars are not prioritized for police, fire, street depts. etc. all the way up to the governor that uses tax dollars to fly basically wherever he wants. Of cours I am feeling the crunch but one thing I've learned from this is that it was time to change my spending habits.

Someone lost touch with reality Mr. Shock. If you thought Mr. Bush, who has made the worst decisions ever, will help your campaign and we would all forget about it then you need to get in touch with reality instead of your pocketbook.

500 dollars would probably help someone from foreclosing, oh wait, Mr. Bush's last campaign said a home for everyone. That worked out great. If great decisions are made by people you are around then Mr Shock you lost my vote.

You know, I am an Iraq veteran and traveled the whole country while I was there. I didn't see any progress, please tell me what progress you are speaking of. This is America, everyone has the right to say what they want about whatever topic they want. Yes, it's hard to run a country, but it wasn't very hard for Bush to run the country into the ground over the past 8 years. By the way, how is the economy working out for you? Are you seeing the trickle down effect that conservatives love so much?

Hmm let's see gas prices are ridiculous, people are scraping by with paying for groceries. But hey let's have a fundraiser at $500 a ticket to see the person who has yet to really show that he really cares much about the American working people.

I'm not sure about you, but one of the reasons I joined the Army was to ensure Americans keep the right to say what they wish even if I don't agree. Just a little off the point of the article, but oh well.

unless you have served your country in combat and seen the real difference we have made overseas then you have no right to comment on anything dealing with the war. You try running this country and let's see how you will do?? If you really want to make a difference walk in our shoes and then you may have a leg to stand on.

pjstar.com reports that Mr President is making no personal appearances and a photo with him will cost you $5,000. Think the GOP is too rich for my blood....

I think that this IS really great. Those who oppose our President really do not understand what is going on behind the scene. Better Iraq than our doorsteps.

I hope Callahan smells the desperation or stupidity, not sure which Schock is currently suffering from with that move. She should pass out fliers with a nice big picture of Bush, the WORST PRESIDENT EVER, and his little buddie Schock so everyone can see how "friendly" they are, I'm certain those who are still undecided about who to vote for will have no trouble making a decision then. She should then send Schock a nice thank you letter.

LMAO!!!! How nice for Aaron:)It's always nice to have someone campaign for you who's approval ratings are in the 30's, spends 100's of BILLIONS of dollars on a war that should not have happened, lies to the American people, and has done more harm than good for the United States of America. Way to go Aaron! You should give your campaign manager a raise for scoring this big coup.

"It's an honor to have the President come for a 27-year old candidate," That's the only person that would have him help out. I voted for this guy and I wouldn't want him within sight of my campaign.
