During a speech today, State's Attorney Kevin Lyons identified houses on Bourland, Thrush, Northeast Madison, Columbia Terrace, West Howett and West Antoinette.

Lyons says they are the first six on his list. He wants a circuit court to forfeit the houses and land from owners because of drug activity on the properties.

"When you live in a neighborhood that you can't get out of because you either can't sell your home, or you don't want to sell your home, or you're in a position where no one wants your home, sometimes you have to work to improve your neighborhood and there's nobody there to help you. One house, one person, one case at a time...I'm going to try to do that," said Lyons.

He says money seized from drug sales will be used to deal with the cost of residential forfeitures.

Lyons is running against Republican challenger Darin LaHood in the race for state's attorney.

More election year lip service from "Catch and Release" Lyons. Some of the people are in our neighborhoods because of his unwillingness to prosecute. When will he have a press conference to address that issue?
