26-year-old Jehan Gordon defeated Peoria County board member, Allen Mayor in yesterday's race.

After her win, she talked about the hardest part of her run so far.
"Primaries are tough be it Republican or Democrat or any other party for that matter they are tough because people that have worked together for a longtime have to line up on the opposite sides of the street."

The 92nd district was a democratic stronghold until Schock took the seat in '04.The former CEO of Heartland Community Health Clinic is confident her party will keep the seat by tackling issues like Healthcare.

"Heartland is a good example of how parties in the public and private areas can come together and really develop programs that serve the people. We have grown the clinic from under a thousand to 16 thousand people that didn't have insurance."

Primary opponent Allen Mayer has now thrown his support behind Gordon. While Schock says he is supporting Krupa in her quest for his seat.
