Bark at the Park

By Michelle Mantel

Hundreds of furry friends wagged their tails at Peoria's Festival Park Sunday.
And it turns out fun at the park could benefit four legged friends in the future.

Dogs of all sizes, shapes and breeds had a wagging good time at the twelfth annual Bark in the Park.
Pet Owners brought their four legged friends out for an afternoon of games and even a dog carnival.
The fun filled day helps the Peoria Humane Society.

"This is the Peoria Humane Society's largest fundraiser so it is an event set up to help people help animals through their fund-raising efforts", said Kitty Yanko of the Peoria Humane Society.

Pet owners also donated money directly to the Humane Society to help other canine friends.Organizers say they expected more than one thousand dogs at Bark in the Park. They say the event continues to grow each year.
