September 15: Construction Brake

By Jeff Muniz

Besides flooded roads, here are the new area roads under construction in this week's Construction Brake.

Don't forget that West Washington Street near the Police and Fire Department in downtown East Peoria is closed through Thursday.

Also, Old Illinois Route 121 over the Mackinaw River closes Monday. The bridge closure near the Hopedale exit on Interstate 155 will last thru the middle of December.

In McLean County, bridge painting begins Monday on Interstate 55.
Four bridges from Towanda to Lexington will get a new coat this fall meaning lane reductions.

And in Bloomington, road work begins on US 51 Monday. There will be overnight lane closures from Lafayette Street to Interstate 74.

Drive carefully and watch out for those orange barrels.
