Statutory rape is statutory rape. In my book “two strikes and your out”. A 10 year sentence may be appropriate if found guilty.

This poor "innocent" girl was just recently busted for drinking again. I guess a lesson was really learned here!

She should not be representing our school. What a bad example for others, I guess you can get away with anything!

Jurors allready decided once, GUILTY, thats why he was on probation, GET IT??

This issue is still before the courts and judgement has not yet been made. It is irresponsible to post comments which pass judgement on someone based on assumptions. Let the jurors decide before branding Chromik as guilty.

This girl has the "party reputation" at school. Wasn't a bit suprised it was her!

I hold the school responsible for the hiring of this teacher! I do feel this girl has to hold some responsibility also though. She made a poor decision like all teens do but there are consequences to be paid for bad decisions.Get caught drinking and your off your sport. She was drinking and having repeated sex with a teacher. Not exactly rape! She should have the same reprucussions as the other athletes at Metamora.

i know this girl personally. you people have no idea what even went on. how would you like it if your soccer coach constantly would try to get you to come over. he's a very manipulative man.. obviously.. it has happened before. she is 16. its normal for her to be scared/embaressed to tell on him when hes her teacher AND coach. alot of girls get raped and don't ever tell anyone about it.

Why was it not caught during the hiring process that he is on probation out of Tennessee until 2010? If you go to their Department of Probation and Parole you can find this out. Do schools only check the state the teacher is applying if for a criminal backround check?

Why is Metamora allowing this girl to still represent the school after she has admitted to having sex with a teacher? She didn't report the incidents and from what I have heard she was not forced into them.

It's time we looked at changing the requirements for minimum age to become a high school teacher to 25. A 22/23 year old teacher is only 5 years older than a senior, and not much more mature.

He was my food science teacher. I know who the girl is. I knew about this long before it was reported. If you were to ask me which girl I thought Steve had sex with before I found out who she was I would have guessed right based on how he treated her in class.

i am not suprised. he was already on probation for a felony aggravated assault case from Tennessee, a case which was pled down from a sexual battery charge. it looks like Stephen is already known for making bad decisions.

This is happening all over the country. Go to www.schoolteachernews.com and click on the Scandal page. They have documented over 330 of these types of incidents since just the beginning of 2008.
