Fatal Tazewell County Crash

A 57–year–old Pekin man is dead after he lost control of his pick–up truck Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on Route 29 at Goetze Road in Tazewell County.
Authorities say Ricky L. Vonderheide was traveling southbound when he lost control of the truck. The coroner pronounced him dead at the scene at 2:30 p.m.

Coroner Dennis Conover has scheduled an autopsyfor Thursday morning.

The Tazewell County Sheriff's department is investigating the crash.
