Woman Faces Attempted Murder Charges

By Gina Ford

A 46-year-old Bloomington woman now faces charges of attempted murder after allegedly slashing a man's throat with a box cutter earlier this week.

Police say Cynthia Howard and the victim, a 40-year-old Bloomington man, know each other.

Officers say they're not sure what led to the attack that took place in the 1800 block of Industrial Park Drive in Normal Monday.

Howard was originally held on charges of aggravated domestic battery...but attorneys say Howard knew her action could lead to the man's death.

The victim-not identified by police-was treated at BroMenn Regional Hospital.
