Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust

A traffic stop on Route 6 by Illinois State Police leads to the arrest of three area men on drug charges.

During a traffic stop around five Tuesday evening a state trooper smelled marijuana and called out a Peoria Police K–9 unit. Police discovered 50 grams of marijuana.

Zachary T. Carter and Shannon E. Benefield of Glasford were arrested for possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana with intent to deliver, while Bryan L. Dunn of East Peoria was arrested for possession of less than 10 grams.

At what point do people realize that illegal is illegal. If you don't do it you won't get caught and punished. If the law changes, smoke on, if not face the consequences of your actions. The choice is yours.
