Fight Back Express Bus Rolls into Peoria

By WEEK Producer

Hoping to gear up in the fight against cancer, the Fight-back Express Bus rolled into the Shoppes at Grand Prairie Parking Lot today. The tour is sponsored by the American Cancer Society Action Network to race cancer awareness. The bus is making 18 stops in Illinois, starting in Chicago and ending in the quad cities...After cruising in the land of Lincoln, the bus is headed across the country before ending up in Washington D-C.
Sharyl Nusuke of the Fight Back Express stated, "the idea with it being here today in Peoria is to get the community together to gather, to make a pledge, to fight back, to let our legislators know that we're here, that we want to spend more dollars on cancer research so that we can fight this disease that affects everyone."
It's estimated more than 25-thousand Illinois residents a year die from cancer.
