Area fair goers will soon have to say farewell to the ferris wheel, cotton candy and games at least for a year.
Today is the last of the 9 day Heart of Illinois Fair.
The fair gates at Peoria's Expo Gardens will remain open until midnight.
Fair attendee Jennifer Atkins of Peoria took her daughter to the fair today.
She says she's been coming to the fair for 20 years and wanted to share the experience with her four year old daughter.
She said, "We've been kind of busy throughout the week so we thought a Saturday would be a good day and she loves the food, the people, and the rides".
"Lemonade and water and elephant ears with sugar and that's all", said Corgan Atkins.
This is the 59th year for the Heart of Illinois Fair.
You still have time to catch a ride or savor some fair food at the Expo Gardens.
Admission for the fair is seven dollars for people who are 13 or older.
The cost for kids between the ages of six to 12 is three dollars...little ones under the age of six can get in free.
