It's the first step in sending a life–saving message to Central Illinois parents.

It's called the Train the Trainer Seminar and it's meant to get the facts out on Shaken Baby Syndrome. Organizers say it's important to have teachers on the same page before the message can get out to the public.

"It's not rocket science. We're not here to teach anything real difficult, but we just want people to feel comfortable talking about it. The more they talk about it, the less it will happen," said

About sixty participants attended this Friday's seminar.
Connie Collins works for Department of Children and Family Services but says seeing her son battle a crippling brain injury which makes her message more personal.

"Prevention can be prevented in the beginning. In other words even before they have children. If they feel they can't cope with a crying baby, they shouldn't have one," said Collins.

Organizers say they hope the event serves as a base for spreading the message to parents in the community.
