Gas Can Safety Warning

The State Fire Marshall is warning consumers and retailers about a new disposable gasoline can that is not approved for sale in Illinois.

David Foreman says the product called ItzaGasCan poses a fire hazard if not properly discarded.

ItzaGasCan is a cardboard box with a plastic lining used as an emergency gasoline container.

It's currently on sale in some states and on the Internet.

The Fire Marshall wants anyone who sees this product being sold in Illinois to contact the division of fire prevention at 217–785–4714.
