Making ends meet could be more difficult this month for nealry 300 Peoria area residents.

A U.S. Postal Service error means many people are still waiting for their July 7th unemployment checks.

The Illinois Department of Security says the Postal Service admits they received the checks but cannot find them. It's unclear what happened to the checks and how many are missing.

Those affected can go to their local Illinois Department of Security office with two pieces of identification and request a replacement check, which will be handed over to the Postal Service the next day.

Areas experiencing significant delivery problems include Peoria, Peoria Heights and Creve Coeur

IT SEEMS IT IS EITHER THE SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS OR THE UNEMPLOYMENT CHECKS..HOW WOULD THEY FEEL IF SOMEONE WAS HOLDING ONTO THERE CHECK AND IT GOT LOST??? HEY POSTAL SERVICE I FEEL SOMEONE OUGHT TO BE FIRED OVER THIS. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WITH OTHER CHECKS. OK, NOW LETS SEE..I KNOW..YOU WILL FIND A REASON TO RAISE POSTAL FEES (RATES).
