Grocery Store Coming To Sheridan Village

Plans are in the works for Peoria's Sheridan Village to be the location for a new grocery store.
Hy–Vee Corporation Thursday submitted site plans for the project to the city of Peoria.
The fact that a new food store was coming to Sheridan Village was no secret – but which grocer was interested in the space was closely guarded.
The 84,000 square foot store will occupy the space formerly housing Cohen's Furniture.
Hy–Vee says it expects to hire 400 people for the Peoria store.

Hyvee will be great for Peoria. Very best customer service awaits all who have never shopped there. If hyvee treats Peoria like other cities of like-size, such as Des Moines, Omaha, Iowa City, Quad cities, etc. other stores will be on their way. 400 jobs sounds a little inflated but alot of their employees have been with the comp. a long time. So E. Peoria, north side, I would look at more to come and do all you can to welcome them in your community.

What a good use of existing commercial space. Any HyVee I have been in has been really nice. The addition of 400 new jobs in the area is a real boon. I am sure HyVee has done their market research and would not attempt such an endeavor if they did not feel they would be successful. Welcome to the community!!!!!
