The stage went up earlier Thursday at Riverfront Park in East Peoria.
Several concert events, family events and of course the fireworks show will take place over the next couple of days.

"We've had a wonderful planning with Peoria. We will have a special ceremony. You're going to see all kinds of activities on both sides of the river. This has really become a regional activity. A family activity, free something people can come see and have a good time," said East Peoria Mayor Dave Mingus..

The combined fireworks display is second largest in the state of Illinois outdone only by Chicago.
This is the second year the two cities are teaming for Red White And Boom.
This year there are extra concerts and events taking place before and after the fireworks.

The 4th of July fireworks will begin at sunset.
