Former Coach Is Sentenced To Prison

By Gina Ford

A former Peoria High School coach was sentenced to three years in prison this morning.

Andre Williams plead guilty to having sex with a fifteen–year–old student that played on his girls' basketball team.

Before the judge sentenced him, Williams addressed the court with apologies.

He pleaded with the judge for leniency and asked to remain at home with his wife and three children.

The former coach's attorney John Stenson says he had hoped the judge would give Williams probation with counseling.

"We knew that prison time was definitely a realistic possibility.
But it wasn't our expectation or hope."

The judge declared the acts to be criminal sexual assault. And he continued to say it was especially troubling that the sexual acts went on for a year.

A female teacher was found guilty of the same crime in middle Tennessee about 3 years ago. She was found guolty and put on probation. She kept contacting the 15 year old boy by sending explicit pictures of herself over her cell phone. Finally the judge had enough and she was sent to jail but she was crying that she needed mental help. Haven't heard anything about her lately. It seems to me that when a female does the same thing as a male, they get by with it more and it's not right. Thank y'all

He thought he had the world by the behind but he should have known better than play around with a 15-year-old girl(s). Consensual sex, he claims? Maybe but he should have known better.
