Washington emergency responders are working with Washington High School to conduct a lock down drill.

This afternoon they will test the school's evacuation plan. Police officers will train on locating and securing the "shooters".

A police spokesperson said two police officers will act as "intruders" while former students act as the injured.

The fire department will deal with a small fire in the alley behind the school.

The lockdown was a good experience for us all because it gave us the chance to know what to do incase something like this would ever happen. Not only was it practice for us, but also for the community it self. I just want to thank our dean Mr. Hellrigel for giving us the experience and preparing us for what could possibly happen in the future.

Too bad that Washington decided to ax their ESDA which could have been a vital asset for a drill or real event such as this...It's sad that the city cares so little for its volunteers.
