A man stirring a pot full of steamy grits on the stove at Mt. Zion Baptist Church means it's the second Sunday of the month.... but on this Sunday it means more.

"This is a special event because of it being mother's day and we're trying to show are mothers and grandmothers and everyone not just at the church but also throughout he whole community," says James Flemming.
The bacon and eggs along with biscuits and gravy got the seal of approval from these Mothers on their Day.
"They put their heart and soul into it.
Not that they haven't but its just a little bit more appealing," says Cindy Johnson.
69-year-old Nellie March who is a mother of five says there's nothing like seeing a man in the kitchen.
"I love seeing men cooking.
I wouldn't have missed the breakfast this morning for anything."

"This is something they do every Mothers Day but I think they've gone above and beyond the call of duty this year," says Cindy Johnson.
But the men here say doing the cooking...especially on Mothers Day is their duty.
"We're trying to show that we honor our women especially our mothers who have done so much for us," says James Flemming.
A tribute these mothers are looking forward to next year.
