Women Build...it's women, raising funds and building homes for other women. And it's happening again in Bloomington.

Volunteers began work on a new home on Richwood Trail Tuesday.

These ladies aren't afraid of a little sawdust...in fact, they enjoy it...

Volunteer, Tracy Bobbitt said, "I think it's just the experience in general. Building, side–by–side with the home owner and getting to know all the women in the community and community out building a house, it's pretty empowering."

This is the third home Bobbitt has raised a hammer for through Women Build, a Habitat for Humanity Initiative. Several of these volunteers are repeat builders...some are beginners...but the key is they're all women.

Volunteer Coordinator Kristen Sand said, "It creates a non–threatening environment where women can come out, maybe they've wanted to do it but didn't feel as comfortable coming out on a Saturday with men or different groups. It gives them the opportunity to just come with women in the community and meet some people and gain some of those construction skills."

This house is going to Susan Green and her six children. Green is looking forward to moving in, in September, but she says this process has been rewarding.

Green said, "That's been the best part of the whole thing is building relationships with them and getting to know them a lot better. We all come from different walks of life but their hearts are all in this and in helping me and my family."

This house is in good company, the home next door and the one down the street are also Habitat for Humanity, Women Build homes.

And they're not just building homes, these ladies are helping to build lives and relationships.

Susan Green should be able to move into her new home in September.
