The 4th of July fanfare along the Peoria riverfront has now turned into a three-day festivity. And besides the boom from the fireworks, there will be two nights with national act concerts.

Organizers of Red, White and Boom on Tuesday said this year's fireworks show on the 4th will be even more intense and maybe a little longer. That's thanks to 25-thousand dollars worth of extra fireworks compared to last year.

"Our show at $75,000 plus this year will represent probably the top 2 to 2.5% of shows in the United States. The bulk of the firework shows you will see are probably 8, 10, 12-thousand dollar firework shows in most areas," Mike Wild, Organizer and General Manager of JMP Radio Group says.

The city of Peoria and East Peoria combined for the first time last year to put on the pyrotechnic display. Cheap Trick will take the stage along Peoria's riverfront on July 3rd and country group Diamond Rio on Saturday, July 5th.

East Peoria's riverfront will have family fun activities and food just on the 4th.
