The District 150 Board of Education Monday night—by a five to one vote—approved pushing back the start of school in elementary grades by 45 minutes.
At a meeting at Kellar School last week, many parents protested the change, saying shortening the time in school was not in the best interests of children.
District 150 said the shorter day would not impact education and would save money.
