I'm Denise Jackson here with Steve Hucal of Senior Services at the Center for Prevention of Abuse.

"They're victims of identity theft. When somebody opens up credit cards in their name and unbeknown to them are racking up these credit cards maxing them out before they even know what happens."

"The main thing I always tell the seniors to become aware of what a credit report is and what it can do for you. By law everyone can get a copy of their credit report once a year and by reviewing that credit report they'll determine whether or not they are victims of identity theft."

If you have any questions, click on features then experts on line and you can ask Steve a question about protection from identity theft.

If you have any money saving tips, videotape them and send them to You News at W-E-E-K-dot-com.
