The date is set for the expulsion hearing of 17-year-old Victor Simmons...Simmons is the Woodruff High School student arrested for bringing a gun and ammunition to school.
Victor Simmons' mother says she is preparing to meet with members of District 150's disciplinary committee this Tuesday.
In the meantime Simmons says she's trying to organize a fundraiser with the help of those who knew Victor to help her make his bond.
"Even now though he has a five thousand dollar bond he doesn't have lawyer in order for us to get a reduction or in order for us to do anything but just leave him in jail, " says Audurone Simmons.
Victor Simmons was arrested on April 16th and charged with unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a firearm and ammunition.
He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary court hearing on May 15th.

I think its ridiculous that she would think people would want to contribute to get him out of jail. If I had a child in that school I would be even more upset then I am now. I don't care what he intended to do or not do. It never should of been taken to school. She should be more concerned with why her 17yr old has a gun then with the school kicking him out for having it. I for one am happy he is sitting in jail.
