Jacki Tracy is leading her team as they prepare for the Race for the Cure. They're trotting for a cure for breast cancer.

"It has changed my life drastically. Never in my life did I think I'd have breast cancer," said Tracy.

But she has support walking behind her as her team called the Glamour Girls shine as they prepare for the big race. Forty year old Tracy has a reason for striding toward her team name.

"Whenever I worked out I always used the cardio machine so I always read my Glamour magazine and I'm 40 now and I'm not reading Glamour as much so these girls became my Glamour Girls," said Tracy.

That's why they're walking with her for in support before and after the race.

"We're not only helping Jacki, we're helping millions of women everywhere who are affected by breast cancer," said Casey Kelso, the team leader of the Glamour Girls.

Jacki Tracy was diagnosed with breast cancer in December.

"I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I've done 5 of my 6 chemo treatments and my 6th treatment will be the Monday after the race so I'm hoping I could get through the race."

And she will, as long she continues to get the support she's receiving.

"I''m really excited about the team and the kind of support everyone's given to her," said Jacki's husband, Matt.

We're going to go through and survive.

If you go to our website, week.com, you can sign up for the Race for the Cure, and get additional information.
More race information will also be included in the Peoria Journal Star on May fourth.
