The women brought home the N-C-double-A Division three national championship trophy.

The women's national championship is the first in school history.

Coach Chris Schumacher was also named coach of the year.

"It took a lot of hard work," Schumacher says. "I remember getting here 10 years ago and the program was in its infancy stages. So to be where we are right now, I have to credit the coaching staff and also the seniors that got us to this point."

Team captain Rachel Anderson earned her third consecutive 400 meter title for the third straight year and took part with co-captain Brooke Halcott in the 4x400 relay, winning that as well.
