A home iImprovement store is teaming up with the YMCA to educate children and keep them fit.

By June, a grassy area off Willow Knolls Drive in Peoria will be a playground and educational garden.

Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation awarded a 15–thousand dollar grant to the Greater Peoria YMCA to build the facility.

Andie Halley with the YMCA says the playground will be a great benefit for the day camp program.

She says the children will be able to increase their activity level and also learn about the different flowers and plants in a garden.
The project is expected to be complete by June second.
