Crash on Route 116 Sends Two to Hospital

A 2–vehicle crash sent two people to local hospitals Thursday morning.

The vehicles collided on Illinois Route 116 on Access Road 8 at about 11:20 this morning.

Police say the driver of a red Hyundai, 21–year old Cody Linder, jumped out of his moving vehicle. The unoccupied vehicle then collided with this pick up truck.

Officials say they don't know why Linder jumped out of the vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to area hospitals and their conditions are unknown.

I'm the guy who was in the truck. I'm no worse for the wear and thankful that Cody wasn't badly. The one thing that I took away form this is to wear your seatbelt there are so many factors that you can't control when driving. God Bless.

Personally, I don't care what was going through his mind. He could have killed someone, even a family. He needs to face serious consequences, for so carelessly endangering others.

Ya I do know this kid and he's been a great friend to me for a long time. He's an awesome guy but who actually really knows what goes through a person's mind! Obviously something had to happen to make this event occur.
