State Farm Insurance CEO, Ed Rust spoke at Braden auditorium for Business Week.

Rust talked to students about American businesses' increased reliance on the Internet and its vulnerability to disruption during natural catastrophes.

The CEO also spoke of the importance of developing a higher skill set among today's young people to compete in a global economy.

"What we are finding internationally is that many of the countries we compete with, they clearly understand that strong, skilled education is the first step to long-term economic prosperity," Rust told students.

Rust also feels the lagging economy will have little impact on business in Central Illinois.

Business Week is an annual event sponsored by ISU's College of Business.
