Authorities say 35-years old Brian Pringle and 23-year old Joshua Thomas led police on a chase through Pekin, South Pekin and Morton after robbing this store in Pekin Monday evening.

Pekin police say the driver surrendered after the van hit two cop cars and turned on a dead end street in Morton.

"When the van was stopped the chase ended, the passenger had to be tased while he was sitting in the vehicle for refusing to come out. Once he was out he refused to be taken into custody. He was tased again," said Chris Bitner with Pekin Police Department.

Morton, Pekin police and Tazewell County sheriff's deputies all pursued the van that police say was going about 40 miles per hour.

Authorities found weapons inside the vehicle.
Morton Police say when they were notified of the chase they tried unsuccessfully to prevent the van from coming into the community.

"Fortunately no officers were injured. The suspects were uninjured and none of the general public was injured. It was pretty much an event that lasted a short period of time," said Nick Graff, Morton Police Chief.

The van's driver, Pringle of Abingdon, faces charges of aggravated fleeing, driving on a revoked license, damage to state property and armed robbery. Thomas of Marquette Heights faces armed robbery charges and resisting arrest.

Both men are due in Tazewell County Court Wednesday.
