Some People Prepare For Free Bus Ride

By Eric Shangraw

Peoria Seniors next week will be able to get a free ride to the hospital and other parts of Peoria.

Starting Monday, March 17, CityLink will offer free rides to seniors 65 and older on all fixed routes.

Last night, the Greater Peoria Mass Transit Board of Trustees approved the new plan.

It's being mandated and funded by the state.

The free service does not include any CityLift para-transit route.

To get on the bus, all seniors need to do is show their ID to the driver.
