Gas Prices Soaring

By Chris Coplan & Tom McIntyre

According to AAA, the cost of fuel is 64 cents a gallon higher than this time last year. The Lundberg industry survey shows the average price per gallon is a record $3.20. That's the highest ever in the U.S.

"It's not out of the realm of possibility to see the average to jump up To $3.50 a gallon...Some parts of the country you will see $4.00 gallon," says Troy Green with AAA.

The editor of the Lundberg survey says OPEC's decision not to increase production and a growing world demand for oil means the U.S. should be ready for even higher prices. and quickly. Both the most expensive and cheapest unleaded gasoline can be found out West. $3.58 per gallon in San Francisco is the most expensive, and Cheyenne, Wyoming at $2.95 a gallon is the cheapest.
Locally, gas prices range from $3.13 to $3.29.

I see people complaining, but they still top off their tanks. So, I really don't think people are truely hurting yet. Just be thankful you got to work.

When is enough enough?? All you hear about is the oil mogules getting richer and richer. Record profits. It just goes to show you that the fat get fatter and the poor get poorer. Before long people won't even be able to work and then who's gonna pay for the oil pricks morgage and 200,000 dollar cars??

This is why we need to drill in ANWR and in other oil rich areas in North America. We have to oil but we are not allowed to access it. If we could we would have more than enough supply and the cost of gas, good and services would go down.

Just because they can and there is nothing we can do about it. The prices are going to bring the economy to its kneees.
