Pelo Trial Moves Forward Without Change Of Venue

By News 25 Staff

A McLean County judge ruled today that the sexual assault trial of a former Bloomington Police sergeant will not be moved out of the conty.

Jeff pelo is scheduled to go on trial for allegedly raping four women and stalking another woman.

The 43-year-old is accused of committing the rapes between 2002 and 2005 and stalking another woman for a year before he was stopped outside her home in June, 2006.

Defense attorneys had requested the change of venue due to media coverage of the case.

A final pre-trial hearing is scheduled for March 19 before the trial starts in April.
