Students, faculty and staff gave the team high fives and plenty of support in the high school hallways just before the team boarded a bus and headed to March Madness.

This is the first trip to state for boys team since 1940. The Lewistown Indians improved to 31-1 on the season after beating Madison last night 57 to 52.

Coach Brad Hatfill said, "I feel great about how those kids have performed this year. They've come a long as far as toughness, they keep their composure. So I think that give us a good chance to go a bit further."

Senior Adam Valencia added, "We are not used to getting this far. So it is a big accomplishment. I'm extremely excited as the entire community is also. I didn't get much sleep last night and probably will not this entire weekend."

The Indians play St. Anne (23-8) Friday at noon in the 1A semi-final.
