Stewart Regnier says the local affiliate wants to raise one-million-dollars this year in the annual Race for the Cure.

Komen officials made the announcement at Northwoods Mall this morning.

They also hope to register more people for the Peoria Race for the Cure on-line with the new website.

Regnier said, "We think it's convenient, we think it's easy we think it's user friendly and we think we can really increase on-line giving to the race in this great cause."

Komen officials also announce 28 grants totaling nearly $500,000 to go out to several social service agencies.

On News 25 at Six we will hear more about how the money will benefit one of the agencies.
