Caterpillar Exports Jump

By Tom McIntyre

Caterpillar said today that its exports rose 20% last year.

Caterpillar said it exported more than twelve point six billion dollars of its products from the U.S.

That's up from ten and a half billion dollars from the year in 2006.

In addition to the increase in global demand, Caterpillar credited help from international trade agreements which allow the company to compete "from a U.S. manufacturing base".

Share of CAT stock went up $1.17 in afternoon trading.
