New employees learning how to use the concession stand register are just a piece of the excitement inside the new $15 million multiplex. Wehrenberg Theatres has put 14 screens in its' 61,000 square foot facility. The 60-by-25 foot mega-screen is the most impressive. It's the size of a drive in theater screen in digital format.

Back in the projector room Wehrenberg's chief engineer shows off a $100,000 piece of equipment used to play movies... which now comes in a hard drive format.

Because not all films are being produced in digital format...some of the other smaller screens will still show 35mm films.

All new theaters like to talk about their improved seats. These may be the most comfortable. They rock back and fourth and come from the same design as the bucket seat used in the Ford Mustang.

The concession stand offers more than just popcorn and candy. You can order fresh baked pizza, buffalo chicken wings, steak dogs and other crunchy and salty items... then eat dinner with your movie.

Kelly Hoskins with Wehrenberg Theatres said, "This company originated more than 100 years ago with the drive in theater business... so that is where we still see ourselves."

The new theater on Wylie Drive on Bloomington's west side opens Thursday night. If you bring five cans of food as a donation for the Salvation Army, your ticket is free.

For movie listings and show times, you can call 1800-fandango.
