Going Green

By News 25 Staff

Things are starting to look a little greener outside, especially with these warmer temperatures heading our way. Green living was on the minds for folks trying to help preserve the planet by saving energy.

At Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, area residents received renewable energy tips. The indoor expo featured 30 different environmentally friendly exhibitors. Presentations and interactive displays showcased the importance of using energy efficient products.

"We all need education in renewable sources and how we can put them into our lives," Mary Blough from Peoria says.

John Kotter from Tiskilwa adds, "I thought there would be maybe a few windmill type items here or on display, but there was quite a bit of information that we can sort through when we get home."

About a thousand people stopped by the two-day event. The Peoria County 4H and Extension Foundation sponsored the expo.
