Central Illinois Developer Wins Enviromental Award

By Gina Morss

A local developer and owner of Peoria's A-Plus Home Healthcare is earning recognition for building environmentally friendly projects.

George Bialecki, Jr. of Alternative Energy Builders is the winner of the Inspiring Efficiency INNOVATION Award.

Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance presented the award to Bialecki for building high performance, non-toxic, affordable homes for seniors in Illinois.

In July, WEEK-TV featured him in a story on area green building efforts.

Bialecki is also the U.S. representative for the 2008 Olympics Future House Community Project.

The project is ten houses, each built by a different country. They'll be showcased during the summer Olympics in Beijing.
